Being one of the 3 important aviation tactics training centers, Anatolian Eagle Training Center (AETC) is a host of many other training exercises as; September 2010 Turkey & China “I know Kungfu i Bilateral training”, March 2012 Turkey, USA “Anatolian Falcon”, September 2014 Turkey & Pakistan “TUSAP Raiders”, March 2015 Turkey & Azerbaijan “Turaz Falcon”, April 2015 Multinational “Isik-EX” search and rescue, May 2015 “Nato Tiger Meet”, which shows the capacity and ability to plan and execute different training and exercises.

Aim of Anatolian Eagle Exercises

The aim of establishing AETC is to prevent loss of pilots without experience in the beginning phase of possible future wars, prevent loss of aircraft during peace time, exchanging experience across nations and forces. To bring these aims into reality Turkish Armed Forces made researches, in 1997 6 F-16 aircraft’s of Turkish Air Force with 57 personel joined Red Flag Exercise at Nellis AFB and begin to create the main structure of AETC.  With infrastructural works between 2000-2001 and Anatolian flag exercise held at Incirlik Airbase on 1998, also with the works of HeadQuarters June 2001, Electronic Warfare Systems, additional working spaces, accommodation buildings completed and the center reached the capacity it has today.

Being among the 3 centers in the world, AETC is the one and only center in Europe, which makes it a preferred center as it helps easy transport of personnel and vehicles for European and middle eastern countries, both for time and money.

History

The first Anatolian Eagle Exercise was held with 3 countries including Turkey at 2001, at its 19th year the exercise have participants like Turkey, USA, Israel, United Arab Emirates, Germany, Jordan, Qatar, Netherlands, Italy, Pakistan, France, Belgium, United Kingdom, Spain, Saudi Arabia and NATO. 23 international and 18 national exercises reaches a 41 total exercises for now with over 24.000 sorties.

2019

This years exercise, Anatolian Eagle 2019 has 3 observers from Azerbaijan, 6 F-15E Eagles from USA, 3 AMX-11 from Italy, 1 C17 and 1 C-130J from Qatar, 6 JF-17 from Pakistan, 3 F-16AM/BM from Jordan, 2 Frigates and 1 Patrol Boat from Turkish Navy, 6 F-4E 2020, 1 KC-135R, 1 E7-T, CN-235NM, AS-532UL, C-160D and F-16C-D Falcons from numerous squadrons.

The reason for the exercise is to make minimum loss and maximum gain in a real war by raising educational and experience on joint warfare of all participants, exchange of knowledge, ability and experiences across the forces.

2020

On 2020 the spotters day of the exercise is cancelled due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
